International conference: Academic Co-ordination Centre and Technology Transfer in Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion.
On 13 and 14 November 2013 in Karkonosze College in Jelenia Góra an international conference took place: Academic Co-ordination Centre and Technology Transfer in Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion. The Academic Coordination Centre (ACC) came into existence in 1991 to coordinate the educational, scientific and research activities of pedagogical and specialist staff of the universities working within the territory of the Czech-German-Polish border-region called the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa.The conference was carried out in co-operation with the only Czech University of the Euroregion, the Technical University of Liberec.
The conference was opened by professor Tomasz Winnicki, vice-rector of Karkonosze College in Jelenia Góra, and the vi-ce rector of Technical University of Liberec, dr Sona Jandova.
In the plenary session of the conference professor Rainer Hampel from the University of Applied Sciences Zittau-Goerlitz summarized his long-lasting experiences in technology transfer between a higher education institution and enterprises from his German perspective. Professor Jan Koch, head of the Wroclaw Centre for Technology Transfer at the Wroclaw University of Technology, analyzed activities concerning technology transfer at the Wroclaw University of Technology. Representatives of Technical University of Liberec: dr Pevel Nemecek: v-ce rector responsible for and development, professor Jiri Militky, dr Dana Kremenakova and dr Jana Drasarova told the participants about the problems regarding technology transfer from the Czech perspective. These concerned mainly technologies connected with textiles, with TUL being the regional leader in that field. In the last part of the plenary session professor Tomasz Winnicki presented an issue which was received with participants with great interest. It concerned the transfer of a plasma technology which is used in utilization of solid municipal waste, from Scandinavia to Jelenia Góra.
In the workshop sessions active participants were representatives of regional universities of the Euroregion. There was an especially considerable number of presenters from the Wroclaw University of Economics, Faculty of Information, Development and Tourism in Jelenia Góra. Among the recipients of the conference there were representatives of local institutions and enterprises located in Jelenia Góra as well as a big group of students from TUL and KPSW.
On the second day of the conference the guests were able to visit the premises of „PMP Group” at Fabryczna street in Jelenia Góra, where they could see with their own eyes the technologies used at the production of paper machines.
The conference was supported with funding from European Union in the framework of European Regional Development Fund and national budget through Neisse-Nisa-Nysa Euroregion (Programme: Republic of Poland-Czech Republic). Therefore the participation in the conference was free of charge. At the moment the conference proceedings are being prepared.
